JOB DESCRIPTION – CASE MANAGER II/VICTIM ADVOCATE
The South Asian Helpline and Referral Agency ( SAHARA) is a non-profit organization providing services to survivors of all forms of abuse in the South Asian community by providing them with culturally sensitive and linguistically specific services. JOB SUMMARY
SAHARA is looking for a Case Manager II/Victim Advocate which is responsible for administration, coordination and implementation of the Domestic Violence /Elder
Abuse Prgram, and awareness prevention program including outreach to promote learning, facilitate community awareness building around gender-based violence. The
Case Manager II/Case manager will be tasked with implementing short- and long-term project deliverables to improve health, safety and self-sufficiency of individuals and families in need. Activities as such includes in person outreach, trainings, workshops, crisis intervention, team management, and grant reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and individualized case management and advocacy services to all participants including but not limited to intake assessment, benefit assessment, goal setting, case plan development, progress monitoring, individual money management, educational needs, housing and referrals.
- Recommend interventions and/ or referrals as appropriate, based on participant's needs.
- Provide crisis counseling and crisis intervention to participants.
- Maintain detailed documentation on activities performed, service plans and participant data.
- Provide translation and interpretation services as needed.
- Act as the liaison between participants, psychotherapist, legal representative, and other staff members and community partners.
- Assist participants with job search, interviewing skills, and career placement
- Represent SAHARA at community, coalition, and networking meetings.
- Participate in all projects necessary as part of SAHARA’s awareness and prevention program, through representation in public forums, presentations, trainings, and meetings.
- Facilitate educational and empowerment workshops/support groups for survivors of abuse by working with partner organizations.
- Participate in awareness campaigns to increase communities’ understanding of gender-based violence and elder abuse through training and workshops.
- Oversee any digital campaign, materials and public service announcements needed in line with SAHARA’s program objective and project assigned.

- Provide support and coordination to direct services team members to ensure survivors/participants have access to social services, housing needs, immigration relief and mental health support.
- Work closely with SAHARA’s administration team to manage program budgets, spend-downs, expenses, and procurements, and routine grant reporting.
- Provide crisis intervention support to abused, abandoned, and/or neglected survivors by working with other SAHARA staff and government/state agencies.
Qualifications:
- Experience with survivor-centered advocacy or familiarity with victim service organizations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work or related field. Relative experience can be considered in lieu of master’s degree.
- 3-5 years of experience and interest in community development, social justice issues/ social work.
- Fluency of a South Asian language and familiar understanding of
South Asian culture/communities is highly preferred.
- Excellent public engagement skills.
- Competency in Microsoft suite and technological applications.
- Travel required for crisis intervention and training/workshops and outreach.
Compensation: This career opportunity offers a competitive salary and benefits which are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Travel Requirements: Local travel required including few weekends.
