SUMMARY:
Pacific Park is seeking a Security Officer that thrives in a team environment and consistently provides great customer service. The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the guests and employees of Pacific Park by enforcing all rules and policies, as well as carrying out all duties as directed by the Security Manager, Security Supervisor and the Park Duty Manager.
PACIFIC PARK OVERVIEW:
Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier is LA’s only admission free amusement park that offers 12 amusement rides, 17 midway games, an oceanfront food plaza and dynamic retail experiences. The ever-popular Park and iconic Pier enjoy more than 6.5 million visitors annually. In addition to the Pacific Wheel, the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel, Pacific Park’s signature rides include The West Coaster, a steel roller coaster that races 55 feet above Santa Monica Bay. The Park is operated by more than 500 team members, which includes full-time and seasonal positions featuring a highly diverse, dynamic, and passionate team.
REPORTING:
This position reports directly to the Security Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to successfully maintain the safety and security of Pacific Park, its employees and guests.
· Under the direction of the Security Manager and Security Supervisor, the Security Officer will be responsible for observing their assigned duty location, correcting and reporting all situations relating to safety and security.
· Maintain an accurate knowledge base of all of the policies and procedures of Pacific Park and the Security Department. Use of good judgment based upon prior knowledge, experience, and current laws to resolve any situations that are not specifically indicated. In any situation where the course of action is not clear, the Security Officer is required to consult the Security Supervisor, Security Manager, HR or Park Duty Manager.
· Assist the Security Supervisor in the enforcement of all company and department policies and procedures, by way of accurately reporting all discrepancies to the Security Manager, Security Supervisor, and department managers.
· Complete accurate reports of all situations that involve the safety and security of the guests and employees in a timely manner and distributing all reports to all department managers involved in the situations.
· Provide professional customer service to all guests who visit Pacific Park and provide professional support to Pacific Park employees at all times.
· Report all safety hazards and injuries to the Security Supervisor/Manager.
· All other duties as assigned and needed.
· All duties and responsibilities must be performed according to Pacific Park policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
· Must be available to stand for approx. 8 hours.
· Position requires constant lifting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling and crouching/ squatting and walking on uneven surfaces.
LOCATION AND WORK ENVIORMENT:
- This position is located in Santa Monica.
- Year-round weekend and holiday work is required.
- This is a part time position, however peak periods may require 40 + hours/weekly.
- Employees work outdoors year-round under varying weather conditions.
