Your Role:
As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in managing patient interactions, insurance processes, and administrative tasks. Your role is critical in ensuring efficient office operations and excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide professional, friendly service. Check patients in and out and collect copays as applicable.
- Insurance Management: Obtain insurance pre-authorizations, verify patient insurance before exams, and manage copays or deductibles. Regularly communicate with third-party insurance billing to follow up on claims.
- Administrative Duties: Manage emails and faxes between patients, referral offices, and Insight Eye Optique. Efficiently handle voicemail responses and document scanning and uploading.
- Financial Management: Monitor patient accounts, manage insurance aging reports, run claims/insurance reports, and create patient statements for balances or credits.
- EHR Management: Become an expert in our electronic health records (EHR) system, handling all related tasks efficiently.
- Insurance Optimization: Analyze EOBs from various vision plans, research fee schedules for medical insurances, and advise on best billing practices for various medical visits.
- Cross-Training: Be willing to be trained and assist in other areas of the office, including pre-testing and optical.
Training and Development:
You will receive comprehensive training on our electronic health records and vision and medical insurances. Additionally, you will be cross-trained in other areas of the office, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
Who You Are:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Communication: You are articulate, able to explain insurance details clearly to patients, and capable of effective communication with various stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: Your attention to detail is impeccable, ensuring accuracy in scheduling, billing, and record-keeping.
- Proactive Learner: You possess a keen willingness to learn and adapt to different areas of our practice.
- Team Player: You are eager to assist and collaborate with your colleagues, contributing positively to our team environment.
