Here at Tina Loring Group Homes, we are looking for adults who have compassion, who are punctual and responsible. We are a group home that works with adults with Developmental Disabilities. A typical workday consists of handling medications, implementing programs and daily objectives, participating in daily activities, cooking meals, and assisting our members with their daily life skills. We work with 1 to 1 type members, meaning that 1 on 1 care is required. That could include holding hands with a member while they walk & visually and physically monitoring and assisting during bathing times. Most of our members have to remain within their DCW's eyesight during "wake" hours, we also have a couple that have to be within arms length away. During shifts DCW's are expected to fully interact with their members even when program isn't being ran. We provide board games, cards, computer games, etc. to help in this area. We do not expect nor want out members sitting in the home all day. Community outings are encouraged. It takes a lot of patience and empathy to work in this field.
