GMPD is home to a K9 unit supported by the Matt Haverkamp Foundation. Matt Haverkamp served as the First K9 Handler in the Village of Golf Manor. The Foundation has supported the purchase of over 100, K9s in the greater Cincinnati area.

Pay:
Base pay: $30-$35/hr (Salary consideration will be given for prior police experience.)
Equivalent pay: $36.16-$42.20/hr before overtime and available detail assignments
Equivalent pay includes 8.5% in pension pick up, compared to 10% required contribution at regular salary.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Applicants must have relevant background and proven skills necessary to perform the required duties to include computer literacy and proficient oral and written communication skills.
Engage in constructive and positive problem solving in a unique community with a diverse population.
Carry equipment up several flights of stairs and qualifying with a firearm.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent and be 21 years old at time of application.
Eligibility requires successful completion of the Ohio Peace Officer basic certification, successful completion of 2 oral interviews, a thorough background investigation, truth verification test and a psychological examination.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
Police: 1 year (Preferred)
Leadership: 1 year (Preferred)
Law Enforcement Officers & Agents: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities:
Interacting and building relationships with members of the community.
Patrol the community and commercial properties by car and foot.
Conduct preliminary investigations and report complaints involving criminal activity.
Enforce Federal, State and Village laws and ordinances.
Regulate traffic and parking.
Provide emergency medical assistance.
Effect forcible arrests.
Engage in foot pursuits when necessary.
Conduct other police officer duties as required
