Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for providing educational support and supervision to students in various settings, including traditional classrooms, special education classrooms, and alternative settings. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, ensuring the continuity of instruction, and fostering a sense of community and respect among students, staff, and parents.
Responsibilities
- Provide educational instruction to students, including planning and implementing lesson plans, delivering engaging and interactive lessons, and ensuring students meet curriculum requirements.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, utilizing effective classroom management strategies and techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff members to ensure a smooth transition in instructional continuity and to address any student needs or concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students with special needs, including those with autism, as needed.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and support to students who require extra attention or assistance.
- Participate in the development of lesson plans, curriculum materials, and educational programs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about student performance, behavior, and any other relevant information.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a willingness to support students with diverse backgrounds and needs.
Requirements
- 60 or more in Education or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting, including experience working with students with special needs, such as autism.
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans.
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
