Position Summary:
The role of the Senior Enterprise Architect will lead a team of Architects to identify, research, and model business processes, system and data views to support definition of functional, business, and information/data requirements that will allow for the design, development, testing / evaluation, implementation of enterprise business applications and capabilities. The Enterprise Architect will be a part of a process team working with various stakeholders (all levels), including senior leadership, technical management, functional management, transformation initiatives and business process subject matter experts, to build detailed process views to better understand the current business environment to support identification of potential transformation opportunities. The Enterprise Architect will document this information, analysis, findings, and drive recommendations using various technical reports including business process models and architectural views. The role of the Enterprise
Architect is to take this knowledge and ensure that the organization’s business processes and
Information Technology (IT) systems are in alignment. The Enterprise Architect will present solutions and help programs align with their organizations strategic vision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reviews and analyzes existing system process models, system interfaces, enterprise architecture artifacts and other program documentation
- Conduct technical, architectural and business research in analyzing all areas of IT access to the Air Force enterprise, missions, processes and functions
- Facilitates Subject Matter Expert (SME) interviews / workshops for business process re-engineering by developing and documenting current state, management of business processes while identifying gaps.
- Researches applicable law, regulation, and policy related to the execution and compliance of business processes.
- Knowledgeable of assertions to Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and the Business
Enterprise Architecture (BEA) implementation of the Department of Defense Architecture
Framework (DODAF 2.02) and standards as well as Joint Capabilities Integration &
Development System (JCIDS), Joint Capability Areas (JCA’s), and Department of
Defense Information Enterprise Architecture (DODIEA).
- Knowledge of Reference Architecture, Information Support Planning (ISP), Air Force and
JITC certification process.
- Develops and document process model / business architecture content and artifacts consistent with generally accepted modeling standards.
- Performs peer reviews of process modeling and enterprise architecture artifacts.
- Prepares written and/or briefed reports to support the activities performed.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
- Four-year degree in IT, finance, business or management.
Experience:
- 8+ years of broad/diverse background and experience in business process improvement/re-engineering, business process modeling, requirements analysis, reference architecture and/or enterprise architecture.
Required Skills:
- Strong analytic and research capabilities
- Strong presentation development and delivery and relationship building skills at all levels, including working, managerial and executive.
- Working knowledge of a structured modeling technique(s) (e.g., BPMN, IDEF, UML, etc.)
- Application level understanding of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio 2010 and Unicom System Architecture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Proficient in SharePoint
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent project management and time-management skills
- Knowledge of Air Force Finance systems
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry laptop computer and peripherals, and program or regulatory documents
(loose-leaf and/or bound)
Other Responsibilities
- Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager
