Fox Subacute, a leader in care and services for respiratory patients is seeking a Full Time Restorative Aide in the Mechanicsburg facility. Fox Subacute provides quality care for the clinically complex, ventilator dependent residents in a home-like atmosphere. This is an exciting opportunity for a caring individual. In this role you will provide direct resident care under the direction Therapy Department. Ideal candidate will maintain a valid Certification as a certified Nursing Assistant. Previous experience as a Restorative Aide preferred or minimum of one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

The Rehab Technician is responsible for providing direct resident care under the direction of PT/OT Department.
Responsible for demonstrating the Mission for Fox Subacute and to champion the best care possible including quality of life for all residents in accordance with federal, state and local standards and regulations and Fox Subacute polices/procedures.

Essential Duties: Resident Care Duties
- Documents appropriately and coordinates a schedule to ensure residents are out of bed and prepared for therapy as scheduled.
- Assists Therapy Department with transports, rehab and other duties as directed.
- Provide for the psycho-social well-being of all residents
- Observes and reports any physical and/or psychosocial changes of condition to licensed nurse
- Assists in maintaining assistive devices, adaptive equipment and other medical equipment to include cleaning, storing, making available
- Reports all incidents immediately to appropriate supervisor/team member
- Reports suspected abuse immediately per Fox Subacute policy and applicable federal, state and local regulations
- Knowledgeable of federal, state and local resident care regulations
- Coordinates with residents to maintain cleanliness and organization of personal items. Ensures that all staff give proper respect for them
- Is proactive in maintaining a neat and orderly facility

Essential Duties: Guest, Family and Visitor Relations:
- Responds to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Assists guests/residents when transferring or discharging by collecting belongs, helping pack and move as appropriate
- Greets guests and escorts them as needed
- Assists guests when they bring clothing or other gifts by getting items to Social Services for inventory and laundry for marking
- Does not discuss medical information with individuals, except as allowed by federal HIPPA laws
Essential Duties: Risk Management and General Safety:
- Partners with other staff to ensure that Fox Subacute is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies
- Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fire extinguishers, MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets and Lockout Tag out procedures
- Responsible for knowing the emergency medical, fire, disaster and other emergency procedures
- Understand and practices the proper method of attending to and disposing of human waste and the possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks and hazardous materials
- Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids infectious waste, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately
- Ensures oxygen tanks are stored safely
- Watches to catch open oxygen or suction valves on walls in resident rooms and day rooms

Reports to:
At Fox Subacute there is a hierarchy of individuals to which you will be reporting.
- The Therapy Department will assign, direct, coordinate and evaluate your work.
- The Director of Nursing in your building is responsible for all clinical, policy, procedural and disciplinary matters.
- The Administrator in your building is responsible for the overall coordination of the building. Feel free to discuss safety or operational concerns. Fox Subacute has an Open Door Policy and you are welcome to bring concerns that haven’t been resolved at lower levels to the administrator.

- This position is non-exempt and is subject to the overtime rules under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and all state wage and hour laws.
