Position: Barista
Compensation: $18 per hour plus tips
Reports to: Catering Manager
Hours: Part-time, non-exempt position, 20-30 hours per week (mostly weekdays)
Valley Beth Shalom is a warm, welcoming, vibrant Conservative Synagogue in the city of Encino, with more than 1200 families and 70 years of creating meaningful Jewish connections for our members. VBS is seeking a dedicated, friendly and experienced Barista to join the Bubby's team. Bubby's is a community café and meeting spot, proudly serving high quality organic, locally roasted coffee alongside a menu of delicious baked treats, seasonal salads & sandwiches and more. Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers warmly and handcrafting all beverages on the menu and to the needs of customers
- Working register and handling transactions with accuracy and friendliness
- Following written manuals in order to maintain drink quality and consistency
- Opening and closing duties
- Comply with staff rules & customer policy per verbal & written instructions
- Maintaining a clean and organized work station
- Restocking ingredients and supplies
- Adhere to food and safety guidelines
- Assisting other team members as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous barista experience is required
- Friendly, passionate, positive personality with excellent customer service skills
- Dedicated to your job, self-motivated and proactive team player
- Ability to work in a fast paced and team oriented environment
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Food Handler’s Certification is required
