Krekow Jennings is seeking several high-level Project Engineers to assist with starting and completing a multi-year, high end residential project in the Portland area. A deep understanding of plan set management, Bluebeam, RFI knowledge and subcontractor communications is required. Upon completion of this project an offer of full-time employment may be made for relocation to the Seattle or San Francisco area.
As a Project Engineer at Krekow Jennings, your role will be tech technical liaison between the client, project manager, architect and subcontractors to ensure a construction project proceeds safely, accurately and smoothly. Project engineers help tradespeople interpret the job's designs intent, ensure the job is constructed according to the project plans, and assist project controls including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
Qualified candidates perform the following job duties:
· Review the contract documents and budget projections for the project to ensure accuracy and constructability
· Review the contract drawings, specifications and ASI to identify any conflicts, errors or omissions
· Prepare RFIs (requests for information) to bring contradictions to the attention of the architect(s) and request further information
· Problem-solves any design disparities or drawing contradictions by working through the issues directly with the team of architect(s), subcontractors, and project team
· Document all changes and decisions to the contract documents
· Utilize software, technology as well as strong hand-drawing/sketching abilities to document and convey thoughts
· Request, review, correct and submit for approval to architect any vendor/sub/shop drawings, samples, mark-ups and product data
· Performs detailed review, documentation (photo, punch list) and quality control of all work that has to be performed including installations and delivery of product
· Plans, coordinates and facilitates relevant meetings including creating agendas and meeting minutes
· Communicate effectively with subcontractors on any details or requirements per the project documents and specifications
· Works with subcontractors to assure the work is done properly and on time

Required Education / Experience:
- At least 2 years of high-end residential or large scale commercial construction experience.
- Candidates must have a complete understanding of residential construction procedures including general shell, interior and exterior finishes, and the ability to thoroughly understand architectural, structural, landscape, mechanical and electrical drawings.
